我们需要根据上下文猜单词的意思。如bat这个词：

在句子The bat is a nocturnal animal.中，在后面…is a …animal可以推测， bat在这句话中，意思是“蝙蝠” 。
在句子中The baseball bat hits the ball out of the park.中，在后面hits the ball 可以推测， bat这句话里的意思“球拍” 。
再如tire这个词，让我们看看tire这两句话是什么意思：
